    About Me

As a teacher, I enjoy sharing the wisdom that I have gained through my 18 years of university education and 7 years of clinical experience nationally and internationally. My approach to education is very experiential. I believe that psychology can be learned meaningfully by putting it in practice.

As a researcher, I am currently involved in running two randomized clinical trials on counseling. In addition, I am particularly interested in investigating the neuroscience of mindfulness. I train mental health professionals in counseling culturally diverse populations and to effectively help traumatized youth.

In my personal time, I enjoy my 3Ms, Mountaineering, Music, and Meditation. I live in a century old house in Spokane and play an ancient Indian classical instrument known as the Rudraveena.
