AAST 496 Civil Rights Tour Application


WHEN: March 22-March 29, 2019

COST: $1,200 per student with initial nonrefundable deposit of $150(Airfare, hotels, ground transportation,meals and museum fees all included)  

Important Information Session to be held on Thurs., Nov. 8, in Monroe 204 Lounge at 1 pm.  

COURSE: AAST 496 - 1,000 Miles Civil Rights Tour conducted by faculty members Scott Finnie, Okera Nsombi, and George Duvall 

Winter 2019 Quarter: 5 credits 

DESCRIPTION: Once-a-week class meetings during the quarter culminating in a 7-day experiental learning tour of the Deep South's Civil Rights landmarks and museums in the following cities:

Atlanta, GA; Montgomery, AL; New Orleans, LA; Jackson, MS; Memphis, TN; Birmingham, AL; and returning to Atlanta, GA. 

20 students will be selected after a panel reviewbased on submission of application and essay.
