Full-time students can complete the program in one year.

Foundation Courses (effective 2018-19 catalog year)

Foundation courses prepare you for the more rigorous courses in the MBA program. Required Foundation Courses are:

Students with non-business degrees may need to take some or all of the courses listed above prior to taking MBA core courses. Students with undergraduate business degrees from EWU will have already completed these courses as part of their undergraduate degree.

In addition to the above required courses all students must choose 4 of the following courses from the emphases options.

Elective Courses  


  • Financial Statement Analysis 
  • Global Accounting Environment 
  • Sustainability Accounting (periodically cross-listed with ACCT 540 for MBA students who meet 540 prerequisites)
  • Small Business Accounting (periodically cross-listed with ACCT 542 for MBA students who meet 540 prerequisites)
  • Internship (when deemed by MBA to fit within this emphasis)

Note: students may elect to take courses from other graduate programs if these help them achieve their objectives and are pre-approved by CBPA's Director of Graduate Programs.
