    Sara Preisig completed her BA in French literature at Whitman College in 1988. In 1989 she moved to Paris where she stayed for six years working at an accounting firm, powerlifting for a nationally ranked team, and studying at the University of Paris-Nanterre. In 1995 she obtained her Maitrise in teaching French as a second/foreign language and moved to Baltimore, Maryland. After seven years at the Johns Hopkins University, two of which were spent doing research at the University of Geneva, Switzerland, she received her PhD in medieval French literature. From there, she taught for a year at the University of Mississippi before moving here to Cheney in 2003.

    Sara Preisig’s current interests include transcription of medieval manuscripts, translation, early French crime novels and cinema of all kinds.
